Description
Lake Co, CA is home to many walnut orchards and some are relatively small numbers of trees that families hold onto. Many little houses dot the area and there did not seem to be fences between them, neighbors just respecting the property lines. Crews are hired to shake the trees with insect-like mechanical equipment and walnuts are collected on tarps and taken to regional processing plants. Gleaning is common as many nuts are left in the process.
